I have waited about 6 months from my first visit to Ziegele Smile Studio. I wanted to finish my treatments and give an assessment based on making sure everything was well after a bit of time. I needed to find a new dentist and actually had waited too long to accomplish that task. My first visit was to get your standard dental checkup and cleaning, as well as replace a couple crowns that were failing. As a result of the very positive results of my appointments associated with that work completed, I decided to get some additional work done on my front upper teeth (crowns). I’m no spring chicken and years of using my teeth as pliers, cutters, grinders and not being overly proactive about visiting the dentist, it was time to make some upgrades. My teeth turned out great. It took a few visits to get everything completed with the color, size, fit and overall appearance being exceptional. I am very satisfied with the results. Dr. Ziegele and her time are all very good at what they do and professional. They all were very attentive to my needs and always made sure I was knowledgeable, comfortable and satisfied each step of the process. No, teeth whitening isn’t a permanent solution. Many factors affect how long a whitening treatment will last, from the type of discoloration to the amount of coffee you consume. If you are looking for a longer-lasting solution to whiten teeth, you may want to consider tooth bonding or dental veneers.
While teeth whitening products are widely available in the toothpaste aisles of retail stores, they vary widely in quality – and none work as well as our professional whitening. That’s because they contain more “fillers” designed to keep them shelf stable and fewer active bleaching agents. Their messy strips or flimsy one-size-fits-all trays also make them harder to use.
Teeth whitening won’t work on fillings or on other dental restorations like crowns and veneers. When possible, we recommend whitening prior to receiving restorations. Then we can match the color of your restoration to your whiter shade. A filling that doesn’t closely match the color of your teeth is less likely to stand out in your smile than a veneer or crown.
